Message from the Club President
Dear Members,
Our recent golf game at Flinders truly showed how resilient we are as a group. Despite a daunting weather forecast, we managed to avoid the worst of it, with most of the rain arriving only at the end. The turnout was fantastic, and on behalf of the committee, I want to thank everyone for your dedication and support—both during the game and at the post-match gathering in the shed, even in cold and damp conditions.
As we wrap up the 2025 season, we’re already preparing for our season-end game, awards, and looking ahead to 2026. For those who missed the post-game announcements, please note that we plan to move away from fully catered lunches for most games next year, with a few exceptions. This change will help us save time and reduce costs.
Thank you to Yvonne, Kath, Ian, and Andy Moule for their efforts to manage everything around the games, and again many thanks to the team at Bakers Delight for the fresh bread rolls for lunch.
Thank you again for your commitment to the club.

Golf Report – Flinders
Waking up to pouring rain wasn’t exactly the start we were hoping for! To make things more interesting, I managed to drive straight past the entry to the golf course and ended up at the surf beach — whoops!
Luckily, by the time I arrived at Flinders the rain had eased off. There was no wind and it wasn’t too cold, so things were looking up. Unfortunately, the rain returned after the first nine holes, and the wet-weather gear had to make its first appearance for the season.
After a great start off the first tee, my game quickly turned to rubbish — the only highlight being a Ferret on the 13th
(still can’t believe it!).
Despite the persistent rain, there were some fantastic scores on the day. Congratulations to our runners-up and winners — well done!
Next up is our final game of the year at Cape Schanck, followed by a well-deserved drink to celebrate the season.
Thanks again to everyone for your ongoing support and camaraderie after each game — it’s what makes the club so enjoyable.

Match report Flinders Golf Club 26/10/2025
Hi Members,
Well we all cruised down to the beautiful coastal scenic Flinders golf club for our second last game of the year, not really knowing what to expect with the weather because it was looking pretty dicey early on, but being mad golfers we braved the elements and everyone tuned up. I think it probably rained for 7 or 8 holes but not real heavy stuff, and the wind was only moderate thank god, anyway the shotgun start worked perfectly with everyone finishing around the same time.
After the game we had lunch and it was a really great spread as usual, then prize presentations, luckily we had an undercover large tin shed area which was pretty good, thanks Yvonne for organising lunch 👍🏻 and anyone else that helped out, great job 👏 the refreshments were good too, nice one Ian 🍻and thanks to our new secretary Kath for doing the raffle. And not to forget the Sheriff for collecting some good fines for end of year drinks.
There were a couple of really good scores come in considering the weather, with Jarrod Zonneveld taking out the A Grade with a fantastic 38 points and David Jones Runner Up with 36 points.
B Grade Winner was Carl Murgia with a solid 38 points and Runner Up was Sam Goode with 36 points.
C Grade Winner was Brendan Dobson with a magnificent 40 points, well played Brendan (bandit) and
Tania Ritson was Runner Up with 31 points.
Congratulations to all the winners for the day.
Our next and final game for the year is at the dreaded Cape Schanck, we can only pray for good weather because that course can be a total nightmare for golfers at the best of times.
After the game we are gathering back at Mick and Jan’s place for the end of year celebrations and presentations, there will be a BBQ, some free drinks, raffle, hamper prizes, members draw for free membership for next year(reverse draw), guess the amount of lollies $2 a guess winner takes all, its going to be a fun fest for all, you name it we got it ! 😉
Looking forward to seeing you all there.
Anyway until we meet again at the Schanck it’s sayonara from me.
Regards
Andy Moule
